Salinbuhay
A magazine that follows the philosophy
of ELF's "From Life, For Life" but can
also be "From the Leaders, For the
Leaders" because all the articles came
from the experiences and writings of the
leaders especially those who graduated
from the six-week course on leadership
and empowerment.

Komunidad
Komunidad is a "national publication for
local community leaders". It refers to
various scales of the communities;
including national and global. Komunidad
evokes not just local community, but
grassroots community.
Distance Learning Modules

Paglilinang: Paglalakbay Tungo sa
Minimithing Barangay (Unang Kurso) This book is the first course in barangay governance. It
presents the barangay as a community and political unit. It
covers a person and the barangay, local governance, and how to
be a leader in a barangay.

Barangay (Gabay sa Kaagapay) A module that emphasized the responsibilities of
the "kaagapay" in the Distance Learning Program as a
student and "kaagapay".

Pamamahalang may Pagkalinga sa mga Bata
This module is about
child-friendly governance. This course
is a part of a program that aims to
improve the ability of the volunteers
and leaders in a community in
implementing the program about child
governance and how to make a real
child-friendly community.

may Pagkalinga sa mga Bata (Gabay sa
Kaagapay) The responsibilities of the
"kaagapay" are presented
here. This module also guides the "kaagapay" in the
different activities in a group session.

Pamumuno at Pagnenegosyo: Unang Kurso The first course in
Distance Learning Program of Paaralang Bayan (School of
the People). The book aims to help a person to decide when
putting up a business. It discusses one's role in the field of
business, the initial capital, the opportunities, the money and the
market.

(Gabay sa Pag-aaral) A
module that describes what distance learning is and how a person
can learn from it. It illustrates the course "Pamumuno at
Pagnenegosyo" - how to balance individual study and group study.

Salubungan: Adbokasi sa Lokal na
Pamamahala (Pangalawang Kurso)
A module on advocacy that
states a person's involvement in the
community even if he is not a government
official. It is entitled "Salubungan"
to describe the agreement between the
government and it's people.

Salubungan: Adbokasi sa Lokal na
Pamamahala (Gabay sa Kaagapay) A module that serves as a guide for the
"kaagapay's"
in dealing with the government and the community.

Ullalim Learning Theories (Aralin 1-4) A four-part module on
grassroots education and grassroots educators. The first module
talks on the theory of context, content and methods of
Paulo Freire and Nikolai Frederik Severin Grundtvig. The second
module is about the theory of learning of Carl Rogers and
Malcolm Knowles. It discusses the importance of learning and how
a person learns. The third module focuses on the theory of
experiential learning and social learning of David A. Kolb and
Lev S. Vygotsky. Multiple intelligences and accelerated learning
by Howard Gardner and Dave Meier comprised the last module.

real life experiences of the leader graduates. The story doesn't
only focused on the life and love story of a person but on the
drama and their experiences in the community or organization.
This first book focuses on the life of Julito Tria and Flora
Halili.
